Are Harley 883 Reliable

Are harley 883 reliable. Its an accessible Harley a reliable all rounder with a lovely grunty engine. If you buy an 883 the other Harley riders will call it a girls bike or worse and you wont be. The first few rides during break-in the engine would leak oil from the air cleaner housing.

A couple of dealer visits and it seems better now. If it were me Id stick to 1200 as I think its a more reliable build and theres very little difference in the ultimate power. Among the Harley community the Sportster is generally and derogatorily called a girls bike because its the smallest of the three Harley engine families.

Harley iron 883 has a price tag of 13000 is customized in a 3 colors and it is power by the Evolution V-twin 883 cc air-cooled engine. I think they are very reliable. The only difference between a 1200 and an 883 is the bore.

I had 2 sportsters Both 1200 and 2 family members also had them first 883 then bored to 1200. We never had any problems with any of them. The 883 is a smaller bore engine built on the same bottom end and driveline as the 1200 so even though its the hardest working engine in the fleet the rest of the bike is built to handle a lot more torque and power so in that light I would say its probably one of the most reliable of Harleys fleet.
